Our Anime Adventures tier list ranks all 64 units. Illusionist (Transcended), Supreme Being (Sovereign) and Shinobi (Eternal) are top tier on all three sources, and Chuuni (Delusion) on both lists that rank her. The ranking covers the roster before Update 21; the new units are added once the sources rate them.
Supreme Being (Sovereign) is the safest Secret to chase: every source puts him at the top, and unlike most Secrets he is not a limited unit. For a cheaper start, Shinobi (Eternal) is a Mythical that all three sources also rate top tier.

Illusionist (Transcended)
Dark · Hybrid DPS
Overall: SS
Stuns every enemy on the map for 5 seconds when placed, then hits everything in an 8-radius circle three times.
Enemies under 25% health turn Fragile and die to the next hit, which stops tanky late waves from leaking.
Fused Hero
Light · Ground DPS
Overall: SStory Mode: SS
Made by fusing Carrot (Ultra) and Vego (Mage II) at upgrade 7; it keeps the stats of the unit you fused from and the traits of both.
Up to 70,000 damage per hit with 42 range, but it costs over 112K yen to place.
Griffin (Darkness)

Overall: SStory Mode: SS
Starts at almost no damage and grows by sacrificing other units; expensive sacrifices give the biggest jump.
Hits the whole map with full AoE and 40 range once the sacrifice meter is high.
Supreme Being (Sovereign)

Marks every enemy in range; when the 12-second timer ends, each marked enemy takes 5x his damage.
Summons a Shade Birth every 10 takedowns with HP equal to 5x his damage, so Zombie (Risen) makes him stronger.

Up to 37,500 damage per hit, with range growing from 16 to 37 over his upgrades.
Place him near the exit of the path, where leaking enemies bunch up.

Costs about 84K yen to max; the community list pairs him with the Mangekyo Eye relic.

Marks enemies so they take extra Magic damage, which lifts every Magic unit on your team.
Also deals steady damage over time to enemies in her range.

A pure summoner: jellyfish and eels deal all of her damage and scale with her own damage stat.
Zombie (Risen) doubles her summons, which is why summon teams build around her.

Which Anime Adventures units should I get first?

What do the tiers mean?
SS: carries any team and is worth building first. S: excellent, a core pick for most teams. A: strong in the right team or with investment. B: usable, but outclassed by higher tiers for now. C: niche; build only if you like the unit. Each unit is rated in its evolved form, without traits or relics. The Story Mode list ranks the same units for short Story stages, where cheap early damage matters more than buffers.
How is this tier list made?
We compare the current rankings of 3 guide sites and the community wiki (Anime Adventures Wiki, GAMES.GG and U7BUY), all rating the same thing: evolved units, overall strength weighted to Infinite Mode; and evolved units in Story Mode. Each unit gets the middle rating of the 3. When the sites disagree by two tiers or more, we show each site's rating instead of hiding it. We re-check after every new unit or balance patch.
Does this tier list include the Update 21 units?
Not yet. Update 21 went live on 1 November 2026, but its patch notes are not public and every source we use ranks the roster from before it. We add the new units as soon as the sources rate them.
Why do some units have different names on other lists?
After the 2023 takedown, many units were renamed: Leafy is now Elfy (Sylph), Lao is Operator (ROOM), Koichy is Reliable Student (Echoes) and Stain is Menace (Terror). This page uses the current in-game names, as the wiki does.
Which units do the sources disagree on?
The sources are two or more tiers apart on Elyssia, Ghost-kun, Berserker, Somber, Elfy, Commander, Wind Dragon, Trickster, Spearer, Cream, Toad Sensei, Gambler, Tamiki, Idol, Carrot, Lilia and Kansai. Berserker: U7BUY rates him the best bleed carry; the wiki and GAMES.GG say he needs a bleed amplifier to keep up. Somber: The wiki list and GAMES.GG value his range and bleed; U7BUY ranks him as early progression only. Elfy: In Story Mode U7BUY drops buffers to B, because short stages end before buffs pay off. Why do some units show a number?
This is an early Anime Adventures tier list. Anime Adventures came back with Update 21 on 1 November 2026, and only a few up-to-date lists exist so far, so we rank each unit from the sources available, even a single one, instead of leaving it out. The number on a portrait is how many sources rank that unit yet. We re-check every few days and move to a full three-source consensus as soon as enough sources exist.
When will this tier list be updated?
It was last checked on Nov 2, 2026, against the pre-update 21 roster on the Roblox server. The next full check is at the next source check on 5 November, once the sources rank the Update 21 units, and we also re-check whenever a new unit is released. The checked date at the top of the page always shows how current the ranking is.
