Genshin Impact tier list FAQ

Who is the best character in Genshin Impact?

Linnea, Nicole, Sandrone, Odette, Vesna, Vodyanitsa, Mavuika, Columbina and Zibai sit at the top of our Genshin Impact tier list. Mavuika, Columbina, Vesna and Odette are SS on every source. Nod-Krai and Snezhnaya characters dominate the current meta.

Who should I reroll for in Genshin Impact?

Vesna is on the current banner and every source rates her SS: a strong Anemo damage dealer from C0 who works even with 4★ teammates. Also top tier: Columbina, fits a wide range of Nod-Krai teams; Mavuika, top Pyro damage dealer, best with Citlali and Xilonen.

What do the tiers mean?

SS: carries any team and is worth building first. S: excellent, a core pick for most teams. A: strong in the right team or with investment. B: usable, but outclassed by higher tiers for now. C: niche; build only if you like the character. Only the 5★ characters at least one source rates in its top two tiers are listed. Tiers assume C0 for most characters.

How is this tier list made?

We compare the current rankings of 3 established strategy sites (Game8, GameWith and Prydwen), all rating the same thing: current 5★ characters, overall combat including endgame. Each character gets the middle rating of the 3. When the sites disagree by two tiers or more, we show each site's rating instead of hiding it. We re-check after every new character or balance patch.

Why are only 36 characters on this list?

This page tracks the current meta: the 5★ characters at least one of our three sources rates in its top two tiers. Older 5★ characters still work, but the sources rank them below these.

Which characters do the sources disagree on?

The sources are two or more tiers apart on Nicole, Lohen, Kazuha, Cyno, Nahida, Wriothesley, Neuvillette, Furina, Zhongli, Albedo, Arlecchino, Emilie, Kinich, Mualani, Xilonen, Mizuki, Varesa and Durin. Their place on our Genshin Impact tier list is the middle rating, and each character's note shows every site's rating.

When will this tier list be updated?

It was last checked on Oct 30, 2026, against the version 7.1 on the Global server. The next full check is at the next version update, and we also re-check whenever a new character is released. The checked date at the top of the page always shows how current the ranking is.
